Terms  & Conditions

By checking the "I Agree to the Terms & Conditions" box on the entry form, you are agreeing to the following:

  • Entry is open to all national and international quilters and fiber artists. There is no restriction as to when the piece was created. Pieces that have been on prior exhibit at the Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum (‘QFAM’) or past Pacific Northwest International Quilt & Fiber Arts Festivals (‘Festival’) are not eligible for entry.
  • All artists must pay an Entry Fee: $50 for up to three entries maximum; $40 for Museum members.  Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • All entries must go through the jury process in order to be accepted into the exhibit. Entrants may choose to have their piece(s) judged or non-judged.  Judged pieces are eligible for awards and will receive judges’ feedback with return of item(s) following festival.  All entries are eligible for the People’s Choice awards.

Entrants may choose to have their piece(s) judged or non-judged.  Judged pieces are eligible for awards and will receive judges’ feedback with return of item(s) following festival.  All entries are eligible for the People’s Choice awards.
  • By indicating acceptance of the Terms & Conditions when completing the submission process, artist agree to allow the Museum to use any images submitted with their entry for purposes of publicity and/or advertising the Festival.  Full credit will be given to the artist and photographer, where applicable.
  • Entries in Quilt categories must consist of three (3) distinct layers - top, middle layer, and backing, stitched or tied together. Both Wall and Bed quilts are accepted in all sub-categories. Quilts may be hand or machine stitched. No pre-quilted fabrics or commercially pre-printed whole cloth quilt tops may be used.
  • Due to space limitations and lack of sufficient viewing area, the maximum hanging height we can accommodate in any category is 84” high with a maximum hanging width of 104”.  For larger piece, please contact Museum staff in advance to determine if we are able to accommodate your piece.
  • Items made from commercially-produced kits will not be accepted, except for needlework canvases. This includes block of the month quilts made from fabrics pre-selected for the quilt maker, felting kits, etc.  Following a designer’s pattern, in quilting, needlework, weaving or knitting for instance, is acceptable.
  • Any entry that is the product of collaboration must include the names of all collaborators to the project. Collaboration on an artwork means one or more persons worked as a team to jointly create the artwork and each person contributed in some significant way to the artwork, sharing credit for its creation. This does not include the production of material used, paid labor, or contract quilting. Entry form may be completed by one person but must include all participant’s names in the collaboration field.
  • Select the proper category and sub-category for your entry. QFAM reserves the right to change an entry category. If so, entrant will be notified prior to judging. Category list can be found on our website’s Festival page.

QFAM, at its sole discretion, may disqualify any entry for any reason and no fees will be refunded.
  • All submissions will require a minimum of two images, with 3D and Wearable Art requiring three.  Acceptable image formats are JPG or JPEG only.
  • Accepted entries must be available for judging and/or exhibition by August 26, 2022 through October 28, 2022.
  • Best of Show, People's Choice, Awards of Excellence and all First Place award-winning pieces must also be available for extended exhibition at the Museum, returned to artist by December 9, 2022.
  • Entries hanging in the show may not be taken down early for any reason.
  • Artists with pieces juried into the exhibition will be provided with delivery instructions with acceptance notifications. Artists whose entry(ies) have been accepted for exhibition are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the Museum.
  • The Museum insures each accepted entry against damage from the time we receive the entry until it is in the hands of the return carrier up to the value amount on the entry form or to a maximum of $500, whichever value is lowest.  It is highly recommended that entries valued over $500 be appraised and the entrant obtain additional insurance to cover any damage to the entry while in transit or at the Festival.
